A New Page in Publishing

Before word was bound to the page, stories were passed down through oral storytelling — the wisdom of the ancestors, gifted from old to young.

As our cultures evolved, our methods of storytelling took physical form: first on rocks and tablets, and then on scrolls, and then in books. As our societies continued to expand, the gift of storytelling became all the more precious.

The stories that we read are portals into unknown worlds, messengers from cultures that differ from our own. To the pennywise reader, a well-written book is as valuable as a plane ticket to an exotic land. The stories that we read have the capacity to spark our curiosity, tease our desire, plant new ideas, and incite our passions.

The stories that we read have a way of sneaking into our subconscious and making a home among our thoughts. We often look to books to to show us solutions that we had previously overlooked, to widen our worldview, and to mirror back to us new ways of seeing ourselves.

Blueboy Publishing House is a Black-led publishing company dedicated to helping BIPOC authors thrive in the world of independent publishing. As a forward-thinking publishing company, our goal is to uplift rising writers with powerful stories, bringing attention to underrepresented cultures and identities.

As a growing team of directors, creators, and artists: we believe in uplifting strong community values as we intentionally shift our culture to embody the voices of change-makers, healers, and visionary thinkers.

At Blueboy Publishing House, we are invested in promoting fresh new ideas that represent the power we have to change the world.

“When our team founded BPH, it was my vision to create a culturally-aware publishing company that was curated for and by Black creatives. In a consumptive era that often overlooks the needs of our Black and Queer communities, I was inspired to create a new path in publishing: one that celebrates and empowers authors who self-publish, while nurturing a vibrant global community of writers that embody a new era of change and critical thinking.”
